Alexandra Maria Lara has been a Romanian/German television and film actress for a long time. Alexandra is famous for her parts as a character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her professional career in showbiz at a young age. She was a lead actress in television dramas as early at the age of 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the actress. Alexandra is well-known for her involvement in many important projects in both the US as well as internationally. These projects include the British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon as well as many other. In addition, she was a member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
