Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actor and TV host. Her most well-known work is the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. The sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. She began her career in showbiz from a young age. The actress was in lead roles in television dramas from as early at the age of 16. Her critically acclaimed performance in the film for television that she made Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as the role in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically highly successful Oscar nominated historic war drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominees featuring female stars. Alexandra was involved in a variety of notable projects both at home and abroad over the past few years. This includes the British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French history mini-series Napoleon as well as other miniseries. Also, she was on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
